Comprehensive Volleyball Rules & Regulations

General Rules

  1. Having fun is our #1 priority.
  2. Rally Scoring to 25. Must Win by 2.
  3. You cannot block a serve. Rock, paper, scissors for initial serve. Losing team serves all subsequent games.
  4. A disputed point may be replayed at any time and is usually
    the best resolution to any contested point.
  5. To the best of both teams ability, games must start on time.
    Failure to start 6:00 pm games by 6:05 pm will result in
    forfeiture. Failure to start second game by 6:10 pm will
    result in forfeiture. Failure to start third game by 6:15 will
    result in forfeiture.
  6. Coed leagues consist of a minimum of 4 players and
    maximum of 6 players on the court at any time.
  7. A team may play with 1, 2, or 3 players at the discretion of
    the opposing team captain.
  8. No team may consist of less than 1 player.
  9. Regarding co-ed leagues, 2 of the four players must be
    female. Minimum of 2 females on the court at ANY time. In
    the event there is less than 4 players on the court, 2 of the
    players must be female unless arranged with the opposing
    team captain.
  10. In the event the opposing captain is not present, another
    person on the roster will serve as acting captain during any
    rules discrepancies.
  11. Official Rosters must be submitted by the start of
    games on 6/21.
  12. Rosters will be on hand and available for reference
    during any substitution issues.
  1. All substitutions must be arranged prior to the start of
    each game.
  2. Maximum 12 players per roster.
  3. A player may be on both an A league and a B league
    Roster.
  4. A player may not substitute on another team unless the
    opposing team’s captain gives their approval. If said player
    participates regardless of opposing captain’s opposition, the
    team on which the substituting player participates will forfeit
    any and all games of which the unauthorized player was a
    participant.
  5. Volleyball is never cancelled due to weather. In the
    event of poor weather, games will be postponed or
    rescheduled.
  6. Any official roster changes after initial submission
    must be approved by league commissioner. All roster
    changes must be submitted and approved by 5pm
    Wednesdays.
  7. Beer and pizza winners must claim their prize within 1
    year.
  8. All drinks and shots count as 1 drink for the tally.
  9. Players are responsible for calling into the net on
    themselves or their own team mates. In the event of a
    discrepancy, replay the point.
  10. Have respect for the opposing team, your team mates,
    yourself, and the establishment.
  11. The winner of the B league will be promoted to A
    league each year and the last place team from A league will
    be relegated to the B league. No exceptions.
  12. These Rules and Regulations may be revised, amended,
    changed, or altered at any time.

Monday Night Volleyball Rules

  • THERE WILL BE ONE LEAGUE
  • LEAGUE PLAY BEGINS 06/03 AND THE FINAL DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT WILL BE ON MONDAY 08/26
  • SAME SCORING AS IN YEARS PAST. 3 GAMES RALLY SCORING UP TO 25 AND YOU MUST WIN BY 2
  • THERE MUST BE AT LEAST 4 PEOPLE PRESENT TO PLAY WITH AT LEAST 2 WOMEN
  • YOU CANNOT BLOCK A SERVE. YOU MAY RETURN A SERVE BUT NOT IN THE FORM OF A SPIKE OR OVERHAND MOTION.
  • FAILURE TO START ON TIME WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE. FIVE MINUTES LATE AND 1 ST GAME IS FORFEITED. 10
    MINUTES TWO GAMES. 15 MINUTES LATE AND ALL GAMES ARE FORFEITED. IF YOUR TEAM IS UNABLE TO PLAY WE
    WILL TRY TO RESCHEDULE AS LONG AS YOU LET ME KNOW AT LEAST 90 MINUTES PRIOR TO SCHEDULED GAME TIME. PLEASE LIMIT BREAKS BETWEEN GAMES WITH RESPECT FOR THE TEAMS SCHEDULED TO PLAY AFTER YOU.
  • GAMES WILL BE AT 6/7 PM
  • ANNUAL DRINKING TALLY WITH TOP TEAMS RECEIVING ¼ BARREL PARTY AND 2 LARGE PIZZAS.
  • NEVER CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER. WE WILL ALWAYS TRY TO GET SOME GAMES IN. OTHERWISE TRY TO RESCHEDULE WITH OTHER TEAM.
  • PLEASE CAR POOL IF POSSIBLE. PARKING ALSO AVAILABLE ACROSS THE STREET.
